Setting up the
QuickBooks Point of Sale to
Work With POS2Net:
To use POS2Net with
QuickBooks Point of Sale a
"NetStores"
Tax Location is required. Please follow the appropriate instructions for
your version of
QuickBooks Point of Sale.
QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 4 How to:
- Click “Edit”
off the menu bar then select “Preferences”, then “Company”. (See
Figure 1)

- On the company
preferences window you will see a left side bar. Near the bottom of
the bar there is an option called “Sales Tax”. Click “Sales Tax”.
(See Figure 2).
- Next you
should see the windows as shown in Figure 2. In the upper right
corner of this screen you will see a button labeled “Manage Tax
Categories”. Click this button.
- A list of the
tax categories currently in place is shown (See figure 3). Click the
“Add Tax Category” button.

- In the text
entry box type “NETSTORES”. Then Click “OK”. (See Figure 4).
- You have setup
the "NETSTORES" Tax location successfully. Now setup the tax
percentages charged for state sales taxes for each state you collect
for. There is no need to setup any states that you do not collect
sales tax for (See Figure 5).
- You have
successfully setup
QuickBooks Point of Sale version 4 for usage with POS2Net.

QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 5 How to:
- Click “Edit”
off the menu bar then select “Preferences”, then “Company”. (See
Figure 6)

- On the company
preferences window you will see a left side bar. Near the bottom of
the bar there is an option called “Sales Tax”. Click “Sales Tax”.
(See Figure 7).
- Next you
should see the windows as shown in Figure 7. Scroll to the bottom of
the list where you will find the “Add Tax Location” button. See
Figure 7 it is circled in Red in this figure but not on the actual
window. Click “Add Tax Location.

- The Add Tax
Location dialog box is shown in Figure 8. Input “NetStores” for the
Tax Location Name. See Figure 8 it is circled in red.
- Click OK.
- You have
successfully setup
QuickBooks Point of Sale with a NetStores tax location.
- Next setup
your state sales tax. You should see a window similar to figure 9
now.

- Setup the
percentages charged for state sales taxes for each state you collect
for. There is no need to setup any states that you do not collect
sales tax for.
- You have
successfully setup
NetStores POS2Net version 5 for usage with POS2Net
.
QuickBooks Point of Sale Version 6 - V 10 How to Setup Tax Codes for Importing Orders:
- Click “Edit”
off the menu bar then select “Preferences”, then “Company”. (See
Figure 10)

- On the company

- Next you

of the list where you will find the “Add Tax Location” button. See

window. Click “Add Tax Location"

- The Add Tax
Location dialog box is shown in Figure 12. Input “NetStores” for the
Tax Location Name. See Figure 12 it is circled in red.
- Click OK.
- You have
successfully setup
QuickBooks Point of Sale with a NetStores tax location.
- Next setup
your state sales tax. You should see a window similar to figure 13
now.
